SPC Basketball Tournament:

Last week’s snow forced SPC teams to make up regular-season finales on Monday.
Teams did manage to complete the regular season, but with the tournament starting tonight, the Post was unable to get first-round pairings confirmed late last night, and there was one mistake in our hasty tiebreaking calculations prior to deadline.
Carson’s boys tied with Hickory Ridge for third place with 8-8 records.
The teams split their head-to-head meetings, so the next tiebreaker for conference tournament seeds is to start at the top of the standings and compare how the teams fared until the tie is resolved.
Both Carson and Hickory Ridge were swept by first-place Concord and second-place Cox Mill.
Both swept fifth-place Central Cabarrus and both were swept amazingly enough by sixth-place Northwest Cabarrus.
Seventh-place West provided the tiebreaker. Carson split with the Falcons in SPC games, while Hickory Ridge swept West. So Hickory Ridge gets the No. 3 seed, not Carson.
The tournament is using an unsual format this season and games will be played at four sites tonight.
At East Rowan:
Carson’s fifth-seeded girls will play No. 4 seed Central Cabarrus at 6 p.m.
East’s top-seeded girls will play No. 8 NW Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m.

Hickory Ridge’s third-seeded girls will play No. 6 seed Cox Mill at 6 p.m.
South’s second-seeded girls will play No. 7 seed West Rowan at 7:30 p.m.
