Allen – Medinger

GREENSBORO — Allison Brooke Allen and Barry Paul Medinger Jr. were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Revolution Mills. The Rev. Jeff Sweeney officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception.
The bride was escorted by her father, Scott Allen, and attended by Amanda Bullock of Raleigh as maid of honor and Jordan Willard of Greensboro as matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were her sister, Carrie Allen of Greensboro, Nicole Gonshorowski of Blaine, Minn., and Beatrice Sweeney of Greensboro.
Nick Medinger of Salisbury stood as his brother’s best man. Serving as groomsmen were Josh Garwood of Mount Pleasant, S.C., David Starnes of Greensboro, Jim Knuff of Greensboro and Robbie Griffin of Mills River. Brother of the bride Scotty Allen of Greensboro and Charles Mautz of Raleigh were ushers.
Chloe Lyons of Greensboro was flower girl. Other attendants included Tara Starnes and Melissa Bunn, both of Greensboro.
The bride is the daughter of Scott Allen and Allison Allen, both of Greensboro; and the granddaughter of Roy and Helen Allen and Jim and Carolyn Ellis, all of Greensboro. A 2006 graduate of Grimsley High School, Brooke earned a degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2010. She is employed by Farm Bureau.
The groom is the son of Barry and Lorna Medinger Sr. of Salisbury; and the grandson of Charles and Jean Rufty of Salisbury, the late Frank and Corinna Kearns and the late Paul Medinger. A 2002 graduate of Salisbury High School, Barry earned degrees in Marketing and Finance and Banking from Appalachian State University in 2006. He is a Claims Adjuster with Farm Bureau.
Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are making their home in High Point.
