Catawba at home today

Catawba’s basketball teams are at home this afternoon against SAC opponent Lincoln Memorial.
The women’s game opens the doubleheader at 2 p.m. Catawba’s women lead the series 11-4 and never have lost at home to Lincoln Memorial.
The Indians (8-7, 6-5) have dropped four of their last five games and are coming off a poor offensive night in Wednesday’s loss to Wingate.
Lincoln Memorial is 8-7 overall and 7-4 in the SAC.
• Catawba’s men (5-10, 5-6) will be underdogs against the 10th-ranked Railsplitters (14-1, 10-1). Lincoln Memorial’s only loss was in overtime to Anderson.
Catawba helped itself with an impressive victory against Wingate on Wednesday but still needs wins just to qualify for the SAC tournament. Eight of 12 teams will qualify.
Kijauan Arrington (17.3 ppg) leads the Indians, along with Tyrece Little (15.8), the program record-holder for blocked shots. Vince Bailey (6-foot-7) leads the Railsplitters. He averages 20.7 ppg.
Livingstone
Livingstone’s teams play at division rival Johnson C. Smith on Saturday night.
The women start the doubleheader at 5:30 p.m.
Davie’s boys lost to Reagan 87-48 in CPC action on Friday. Heath Slabach scored 12 for the War Eagles.
Arkansas defensive end Chris Smith (West Rowan) will play in the Senior Bowl today. The game is at 4 p.m. and is on the NFL Network.
China Grove youth baseball and softball registrations are from Jan. 25 to Feb. 22 at Dale’s Sporting Goods in China Grove.
Fees for baseball are: 5-6 Coach Pitch $60; 7-8 Pitching Machine $60; 9-10; Junior Division $60, and 11-12 Senior Division $60.
Fees for softball are: 6-9 Coach Pitch $60; 10-12 Senior Division $60.

In a 26-20 win against Triad Baptist, Maria Capito scored nine points for the Salisbury Academy varsity girls. Ivy Overcash scored six points and led the rebounding. Anna Louise Lewis, Anabel Barr, Ellen Simons, Isabel Temple and Lizzie Fisher contributed to the victory.
• Salisbury Academy lost 39-37 to Hickory Christian.
Capito scored 14 points, while Barr had 12. Overcash scored eight and led in steals.
Emily Mann and Fisher also contributed points.
West Rowan won 45-31 against South Rowan in SPC wrestling on Friday.
West (4-3 SPC) got pins from Thomas Current and Ben Kluttz. Zach Ridenhour won by tech fall. Juwan Houston won a major decision. Wood Poteat, Corbin Bennett, Denny Triche and Francisco Castro won by forfeit.
South got pins from Logan Durham, Angel Ruiz and Isaac Hengel. Tyler Hall won by forfeit.
Patrick Byers won a major decision, and James Littlejohn won a decision.
