Reward offered in theft of equipment from sheriff’s deputy’s car

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspects responsible for breaking into a patrol vehicle and stealing a number of weapons.
The agency is also asking anyone with information that leads to the recovery of those items to contact them.
On Thursday, a deputy attending a training conference in Gastonia had the trunk of his patrol vehicle broken into and weapons and tactical gear taken from. It was parked at a Gastonia area hotel.
A second patrol vehicle, belonging to the High Point Police Department, was also broken into and items stolen.
The items stolen from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office include a Glock model 23, .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun, with night sights, a Streamlight TRL-1 Tac light, a Safariland Glock drop leg ALS holster, a Smith and Wesson M&P15 .223-caliber rifle (fully automatic); a Remington .308, model 700 LTR Police Sniper rifle, with scope, bipod and hard case; and two police tactical vests.
