CONCORD — In its 2013-14 season, Cannon Theater Co. explores the theme of transformation. Do people truly change? What is it that transforms us? Cannon Theater Co. will tackle these deep questions with the high-octane comedy, “Much Ado About Nothing,” by William Shakespeare on Thursday, Jan. 30-Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
The endlessly witty Benedick and Beatrice are the ultimate “frenemies.” Both determined to remain single forever, they love to hate each other. Meanwhile, young sweethearts Claudio and Hero yearn to spend their lives in wedded bliss. Enter the embittered Don John, who will do anything to ruin others’ happiness, and the story starts to go haywire. Set in Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip in the late 1980s, Cannon Theater Co.’s production will feature a hard-rocking soundtrack and some very big hair.
