Darrell Hinnant served on Kannapolis city council for 12 years and was elected mayor in November, succeeding longtime Mayor Bob Misenheimer, who had served since 2005 and did not seek re-election.
Hinnant said he’s been watching news programs that discuss what 2014 would bring and believes “Kannapolis is poised to take advantage of that new, growing, emerging marketplace and I’m truly excited about it.”
He said he’s a family man and a man of faith. His children and grandchildren are the loves of his life and church and Sunday school is right behind it.
Hinnant said he’s interested in seeing what occurs in Charlotte this year because he said, what happens in Charlotte affects Kannapolis. He’s also looking to see what new ideas come out of Raleigh.
