Regarding state Sen. Bob Rucho’s tweet about Obamacare:

Mr. Rucho’s comment cannot threaten any loved one’s insurance; Obamacare can. Mr. Rucho’s comment cannot delay or stop the treatment of anyone due to a canceled insurance policy or exclusion of facilities; Obamacare can.
Rucho may speak freely (I suppose he can, but the danger of censure grows every day). I’ll confine my comparison to this: Justice Roberts is a Justice Taney for our times.
I’ll save anyone interested some key strokes. Just search for “Dred Scott.” No Justice has done quite so much to endanger the freedom of so many since Justice Taney as John Roberts has.

I pray for the souls of those who attacked Marco Kauffman, that they might seek God’s love and see the senselessness of their actions and that their families would dedicate their lives to putting an end to the evil cycle of violence.
I would pray that all communities would reach out — from the churches to the classrooms to music, sports and entertainment stars — to mentor these young men and women and teach them that God wants them to be fathers to their children, not to seek the gangster life of crime and drugs.
We all fall short, but we owe each other respect that is earned, entitlement that is justified and success that education brings to all. From the lessons and messages of Dr. King to Nelson Mandela to our president, we all must pull together, expect greatness and be honest about our failures, not to criticize and place blame but to change the systems that have produced this insanity. Charity must come from God. May he touch every heart to change our lives.
God bless you, Marco and your family. May your sacrifice be honored.
