Woman faces several counts of check forgery

SALISBURY — A Salisbury woman is in jail under $10,000 bond, charged with several counts of forging checks and other crimes.
Amber Deann Wheeler, 42, of Statesville Boulevard, was arrested Saturday and charged by the Salisbury Police Department and Rowan County Sheriff’s Office with several crimes, including misdemeanor larceny, obtaining property by false pretenses and multiple counts of uttering a forged endorsement.
She is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

SALISBURY — A Grants Creek Road teenager is charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Lee McCrary, 19, of Grants Creek Road in Salisbury, posted $2,500 bond and was released from the Rowan County Detention Center. Kannapolis police arrested him and said he had heroin, syringes, a crack pipe and push rod.
McCrary is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

SALISBURY — A third man has been charged in connection with a break-in last month at Ketchie Marble on St. Luke’s Church Road.
Rowan County sheriff’s deputies arrested Timothy L. Medlin, 21, of Deck Lane, on Saturday and charged him with breaking or entering and larceny after breaking or entering. Authorities say Medlin broke into the business a few weeks ago and took several compound bows, crossbows, sunglasses, shirts, case for bow, video camera and dog collars worth $25,380.
He posted $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Last week, sheriff’s office investigators arrested two other men in connection with the break-in. Ian Hartwell, 22, of Woodbury Drive, is charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and felony larceny. Dakota Miller, 18, also of Woodbury Drive, is charged with two counts felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.

SALISBURY — A Livingstone College student is charged with having marijuana in his dorm room.
Christopher L. Butler, 21, of Tucker Hall at Livingstone, was arrested Friday and charged with maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. He posted $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
