Two Salisbury men have been charged with breaking into local business Ketchie Marble, and authorities say one of them also broke into a neighbor’s home and stole more than $3,000 worth of items.
Ian Hartwell, 22, of the 300 block of Woodbury Drive, is charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and felony larceny. He remains in the county jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
Dakota Miller, 18, also of the 300 block of Woodbury Drive, was charged with two counts felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. He remains in the county jail under a $45,000 secured bond.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the two broke into the business, located in the 1900 block of St. Lukes Church Road, a couple of weeks ago. They are accused of taking several compound bows, crossbows, sunglasses, shirts, cases for bows, a video camera and dog collars. The items were valued at more than $25,000 an arrest warrant said.
The warrant said Miller went into the home of Joshua Cardwell, who lives in the same neighborhood as Miller, in late October. Miller is charged with taking a sword, a video game console and games, a knife, computer monitors, a DVD player, a bag with “Joshua” embroidered on it, and a pocketknife with a firefighter logo on it.
Miller is currently on probation for a March conviction for misdemeanor resisting arrest in Rowan County and an April conviction in Iredell County for misdemeanor larceny.
