Bridge: Tournament play a good time to catch up

This weekend my husband and I went to the Swiss Team portion of the Charlotte tournament.
We were reminded of the good times we used to have going to tournaments.
Over the years we met several people from other places and were again able to see and catch up with them. It was fun to be part of the competition.
Out of 445 players Salisbury’s own Bill Wisdom came in second overall with Dan Fowler in sixth. Congratulations to both.
Winners at our Evergreen Club Appreciation Game on Friday, Nov. 8 were: First, Gloria Bryant and Dick Brisbin; second, Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles; third, John and Myrnie McLaughlin with BettyBonner Steele and Betty Bills coming in fourth.
Our board this week is No. 8 from the Nov. 8 game. No one vulnerable, WEST dealer. The Pugh/Bowles pair scored best N/S making their 4HS+1 and the McLaughlin pair scored best E/W defeating opponents 5DN 1 trick.
