Cub Scout Pack 306, sponsored by North Hills Christian School in Salisbury, recently relived a part of history by participating in a camping program aboard the World War II Aircraft Carrier Yorktown in Charleston Harbor.
The troop became “shipmates” with other troops as they toured Yorktown, World War II Submarine Clagamore and World War II Destroyer Laffey.
Morning and evening meals were prepared and served to troops in the “Chief’s Mess” aboard the Yorktown for the full effect of living aboard a famous man-of-war.
Ryan and Stephanie Mesmer are Pack 306 Scout leaders.
