Every donation makes a difference
Trinity Living Center (TLC) is one of the Rowan County United Way’s 15 member agencies. As the aging population continues to grow, more families are left wondering how they are going to care for their loved one and continue doing all the things they’ve become accustomed to. By working as partners in caregiving, TLC is able to offer adult day services to citizens of Rowan County for up to 10 hours a day allowing families to continue working, attending school, etc.
While in our care, participants receive assistance with daily living activities, medical monitoring and medication administration, and meals. Cognitive, physical and psychosocial activities are offered each day along with exercise and recreation. Transportation, bathing and beauty/barber shop services are also offered.
TLC offers a safe, secure place for participants to receive the medical monitoring and socialization they need to keep them an active part of the community, but it also offers family members choices; continuing working vs. quitting their jobs and/or keeping their loved ones at home vs. putting them in long term placement.
While constantly working to minimize expenses, we still rely heavily on donations to cover the gap between our charges and the reimbursements we receive. From myself and the rest of the TLC staff, we would like to thank the United Way for being such supportive partners with us and allowing us to continue offering the services that are so vital to our participants and their families.
We would also like to thank all of the citizens that have so generously donated to such a wonderful cause. Your donations make a huge difference in the lives of those that the United Way agencies serve!
If you would like to contribute and haven’t had the chance yet, please send your donations to Rowan County United Way at 1930 J. Alexander Blvd. W, Salisbury, NC 28147 or you can go to www.rowanunitedway.org and set up your donation online.

Obama’s mistakes
What a disgrace. President Obama has called members of Congress hostage-takers for wanting to negotiate on raising the debt ceiling. He voted against it himself back when he was in Congress. He punished WWII veterans by locking them out of their own memorial during the shutdown, but let activists in for their illegal immigrants rally. Fisher House had to put up money to bring the dead soldiers home to be buried when the government refused.
He wasted $400 million on what was supposed to be a $94 million website, and it still doesn’t work. He told us we’d be able to keep our existing policies and keep seeing our own doctors, but many people are already starting to lose their coverage or being told they can’t see their current doctor anymore.
Now we have one in six Americans on food stamps, and the number keeps growing. Now we have half the households in America receiving free taxpayer dollars without paying any income tax at all, while the other half has to pay for everything.
He’s never told us the truth about Benghazi, and never made it right with the families of the murdered men. He’s never come clean about the IRS scandals or the gun-running Fast and Furious program.
He has lied to Americans for four years. His Obamacare is nothing more than redistribution of wealth. Take from the working man and give to the ones who won’t work. He seems to be struggling to make AMERICA a third world country. Too much power can lead to dictatorship.
