The North Carolina Association of County Agricultural Agents recognized Danelle Cutting as a recipient of the Young Agent Scholarship Award on June 19 at their annual meeting in Fayetteville. This award recognizes excellent performance of agents with less than five years of service who are active in the business of this association.
Cutting has worked with N.C. Cooperative Extension in Montgomery County for three years and started in Rowan County in August. She is responsible for urban horticulture, local foods and community gardens.
She will receive assistance to attend the National Association of County Agricultural Agents annual meeting and professional improvement conference later this month in Pittsburgh.
Kohl’s expects to hire more than 50,000 part-time workers nationwide this holiday season to support seasonal business in stores and growth on Kohls.com.
Kohl’s has a store in the Wallace Commons shopping center on Klumac Road in Salisbury.
The retailer anticipates hiring an average of 40 associates per store throughout the holiday season at its 1,158 stores in 49 states.
Target said it plans to hire about 70,000 seasonal workers for the holiday shopping season, down about 20 percent from a year ago. The discounter is aiming to be more efficient in its hiring practices. The move to hire 18,000 fewer temporary holiday workers versus last year’s 88,000 comes as the Minneapolis-based chain saw that its own permanent employees wanted to get first dibs on working extra hours for the holiday season.
Kohl’s anticipates hiring about 6,400 seasonal positions at distribution centers across the country and about 350 seasonal credit operations positions. Hiring levels at specific locations will vary depending on the business needs of each facility. To apply, visit www.KohlsCareers.com.
