Learn a new recipe at the Farmers Market

Vivian Ray, who heads the Livingstone College hospitality management and culinary arts program, will be on site at the Salisbury Farmers Market featuring local vegetables in a cooking and tasting demonstration of her favorite recipes.
Ray comes to Livingstone with more than 25 years of experience as a trained chef. Ray also offers interesting tips on cooking and preparing your favorite fruit and vegetable entrees. Sampling is always a treat for market shoppers.
• Assorted crafts are available at the market.
• Some cantaloupes will be available.
• Beautiful cut flowers continue to be plentiful.
• Green beans are in limited quantity.
• Beef, chicken and pork products are available.
• Local hand-made cheese.

• Field-grown tomatoes.
• Goat milk soap.

• Homemade dog and cat treats.
• Home baked goods.

It’s best to come and shop early at the market because, as the summer slowly comes to an end, so does some locally grown produce. The market is open 8 a.m. to noon. Both senior and WIC vouchers are accepted at the Salisbury Farmers Market.
The market is at the corner of South Jackson and West Fisher streets in downtown Salisbury near Rowan Public Library. Go to www.salisburyfarmersmarket.com for more information about the market and its vendors.
