Waterworks Visual Arts Center will host “A Dozen Dresses: The ReCollection by Diana Greene” for one evening next week.
The event will start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Norvell Theatre.
A Dozen Dresses is a multi-media production about clothes as a vehicle for remembering key events in life including maternity, death, sex, weddings and work.
Each dress tells a story from the sensuous to the ridiculous.
Created and performed by exhibiting artist Diana Greene, the performance tells stories of remembered clothes, outfits that, no matter how lovely or ridiculous, stayed safely stored in the attic.
Each dress, each story and photograph recall an occasion or reflect a significant time.
Part memoir, part dream, it traverses the reverberating line where past and present meet.
The show has been described as hilarious, moving, fascinating and magical.
This event is free and open to the public. Due to limited seating, reservations are required by Monday.
