GRANITE QUARRY — Arin Wilhelm places business development and improving the town’s appearance among his top priorities as he seeks a seat on the Granite Quarry Board of Aldermen.
Wilhelm, 37, of 606 Mulberry Lane, says he also would like to see the town increase its sense of community, especially by using its solid parks and programs for children.
The business areas along U.S. 52 and Main Street are those Wilhelm would like to see enhanced.
Wilhelm will be one of five candidates on the Granite Quarry ballot in November for two available seats. Other candidates on the ballot are Michael Brinkley, Jake Fisher Jr., Eloise Peeler and Wes Rhinier. Brad Kluttz has said he will run a write-in campaign.
The seats of Peeler and Kluttz are the ones open for new four-year terms.
Wilhelm works as an intellectual and developmentally disabled care coordinator for Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California Coast University and a master’s in theological studies from Hood Theological Seminary.
He belongs to Keller Memorial Masonic Lodge No. 657 in Rockwell, the Granite Quarry PTA and is a YMCA soccer coach.
Wilhelm and his wife, Anna, have four children. Wilhelm ran for Salisbury City Council in 2005, but this is his first run for office in Granite Quarry.
