Labor Finders of Salisbury has opened a new office at 816 W. Innes St.
The temporary staffing firm assists people with finding jobs and previously was located in Statesville. Company officials decided to move to Salisbury since more people were being sent to work in the area. The Salisbury office will still service accounts in Statesville, Mooresville, Hickory and Wilkesboro.
The business operates from a building where Ashlee’s Embroidery and Screenprinting was years ago, and most recently housed a hair salon.
Labor Finders provides temporary jobs and temporary to permanent jobs. Some of the employee get hired full time by one of the agency’s customers in as little as 25 business days.
There are no permanent placement fees and the 25 business days is one of the shortest in the industry, according to Labor Finders.
“We open at 6 a.m. every day during the week. For those that arrive early we often find work for them that day. Others go directly to their jobs that they have already been assigned to,” said Ken Cibik, branch manager of the Salisbury office.
Depending on the assignment, workers may get paid daily or weekly, he said.
Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Typically, at 6 a.m. applications are taken and workers are dispatched for work by 8 a.m. Although the office locks at 9 a.m., the business continues to accept customer calls for service throughout the day and says it can service their requirements for workers around the clock.
The company says it has a variety of work options including retail, industrial, hospitality, construction, packing and moving, building and facility maintenance, residential, warehouse, distribution centers, manufacturing and many more blue collar jobs.
It assisted several contractors in the building of the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, Panera Bread, renovations at Office Depot and currently the new Belk.
Labor Finders of North Carolina has 10 offices and can provide service throughout the state. Assignments range from a day to years.
“We like to satisfy our customers. We provide them good service and give them a two-hour guarantee. If a worker does not meet our customer expectations within the initial two hours they will not be charged,” Cibik said.
Although many general labor assignments are unskilled, many other assignments require a variety of skilled trades. The company says its goal is for the customer to request the employee back because he or she did a great job.
“We give people second chances,” said Brian Jones, assistant manager of the Salisbury office. “Several of our workers have stayed at homeless shelters and we can often offer them an employment opportunity to improve their circumstances. Also, employment may be offered to individuals with background records for the appropriate job assignments and with our customer’s approval.”
