Rice ~ Turfa

Amy Elizabeth Rice and Andrew Martin Turfa were united in marriage Jan. 19, 2013, at Omwake-Dearborn Chapel, Catawba College. The Rev. K. Raymond Sipe and The Rev. Dr. Arthur W. Turfa officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Peeler Crystal Lounge.
Maid of honor was Alex Anne Poole, and bridesmaids were Meredith Dodson Testerman, Katherine Spangler and Taylor McCulloh.
Best man was Brian Metz, and groomsmen included Greg Knight, Daniel Turner and Erik Testerman. Caleb Metz was usher, and Gabriel Dillon was ring bearer.
The bride is the daughter of Penny and Doug Rice of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Ben and Elizabeth Mitchell of Salisbury and the late Ella Sue Rice. A 2008 graduate of East Rowan High School and a 2012 graduate of Appalachian State University, Amy majored in Early Childhood Development with a concentration in Psychology and minor in Sociology. She is employed by the Child Development and Research Center at the University of South Carolina, Columbia.
The groom is the son of Pamela and Arthur Turfa in Batesburg, S.C. A 2008 graduate of Blythewood High School in Blythewood and a 2012 graduate of Appalachian State University, Drew majored in Criminal Justice. He is employed by Westinghouse Electric Company, Hopkins, S.C., and is a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
The couple plan a late honeymoon to Charleston, S.C.
