A son, Evan Nicklaus, was born to Chris and Heather Laxton of Spencer on July 8, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces. He has a sister, Roseanna, 4. Grandparents are William and Terry Noles and Ronelle Summit, all of Salisbury.
