Landis offers document shredding Aug. 6

The Landis Community Night is hosting an event designed to help keep residents safe from identity theft. Shred and Protect, sponsored by Local Government Federal Credit Union, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Corriher Wilderness Area, across from the South Rowan Library and South Rowan YMCA, 955 Kimball Road, China Grove.
Individuals may bring their personal documents and records to be safely shredded at no cost. There is a limit of three document boxes, or 75 pounds of paper, per attendee. Items that should be shredded are those that contain account numbers, birthdates, passwords or PINs, signatures, Social Security numbers or email addresses or phone numbers.
