Joy McEntyre Blakeney graduated Magna Cum Laude on May 11, 2013, from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree in Nursing Administration. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
A former Head Start student and graduate of Salisbury High School in 1998, she is the daughter of Rev. Gena McEntyre-Long of Salisbury, wife of Jerome Blakeney, Jr. and mother of Jerome Blakeney, III.
Joy is currently working at the Salisbury VA Medical Center and Bayada Home Health.
