The East Rowan Diamond Sports 8U all-stars won the WNC Cal Ripken Area 3 championship over Davidson County in East Bend. East defeated Yadkin County, Stewards of the Game and Davidson County three times to win the title. East plays Saturday at 1 p.m. in the WNC Cal Ripken State Tournament in Marion.
•The ERDS 9U all-stars play tonight at 6 p.m. against St. Stephens in the WNC Cal Ripken Area 3 tournament in China Grove.
Team members are Jacob Causey, Austin Fulk, Dawson Goodman, Jake Hunter, Garrison Kepley, Kane Kepley, Finch McMillan, Gunnar Michael, Tristan Miller, Chandler Oddie, Bryson Shive and Jayden Weathers. Justin Kepley is the head coach. Wes Fulk and Jonathan Hunter are assistants.
•The ERDS 10U all-stars play tonight at 8 p.m. against Union County American in the WNC Cal Ripken Area 4 tournament in Matthews. Team members are Jacob Daubenmire, Jake Davis, Dylan Driver, Nicholas Hill, Cole Hopkins, David Jordan, Aaron Misenheimer, Braeden Moore, Hunter Poole, Andrew Slayden and Gavin Sprinkle. Rick Slayden is head coach. Bradley Moore and Mark Davis are assistants.
•The ERDS 11U all-stars play tonight at 6 p.m. against North Stokes in the WNC Cal Ripken Area 3 tournament in Churchland. Team members are Jacob Bogacz, Spencer Chandler, Jeremy Clevinger, Corbin Durham, Mason Heard, Dakota Jacobsen, Mason Leonard, Julian Malnar, Ethan Mastro, Matthew Porozynski, Devan Shaver and Mark Spry. James Durham is the head coach. Ryan Heard and Jason Bogacz are assistants.
• The ERDS 12U all-stars play Friday night in the WNC Cal Ripken Area 3 tournament against Alexander County at 6 p.m. in Mt. Airy. Team members are Karson Beachem, Jax Fitz, Justin Goodman, Solomon Holshouser, Seth LaMarre, Nathan Malnar, Matthew Mathis, Corbin Moss, Landon Ridgell, Avery Shull, Zack Starnes and Landon Tuck. Ron Tuck is the head coach. Chad Moss and Greg Shull are assistants.
