Cloninger ~ Timmerman

LAKE LURE – Miss Lauren Kemp Cloninger and Mr. Jacob Charles Timmerman were united in marriage on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa. Ms. Kimberly Jean Hodges, stepcousin of the bride, officiated the five o’clock ceremony, after which the wedding party and guests enjoyed a reception at the Inn.
The bride is the daughter of Doctor and Mrs. Kenneth Kyle Cloninger of Cherryville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jackie Franklin Hodges of Salisbury and the late Mr. Hodges; Mrs. Marion Arnold Cloninger of Dallas, N.C., and the late Mr. Cloninger; and the late Mr. Lacy Earl Gilbert, Jr., formerly of Wagram. Lauren is a 2009 graduate of Cherryville High School and a December 2012 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was presented to western North Carolina society at the 2009 Shelby Junior Charity League Debutante Ball.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nathaniel Timmerman Jr., of Lowell and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Michael Blythe of Lincolnton. He is the grandson of Mrs. Charles Nathaniel Timmerman Sr., of Cherryville and the late Mr. Timmerman, formerly of Iron Station; and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor James Trotta, formerly of Clay, N.Y. Jacob is a 2008 graduate of Cherryville High School and a May 2012 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently pursuing graduate school studies at Duke University.
The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents. She chose her sister, Miss Erin Gail Cloninger, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Rebecca Matthams Goodwin and Miss Arianna Victoria Timmerman, sister of the groom. Misses Marah M’Shel Davis and Jessica Leigh Martin were honorary bridesmaids. Miss Rileigh Elizabeth Kiser served as flower girl.
Mr. Clay Parker Sipes was best man. Groomsmen included Mr. Andrew Paul Simpson and Mr. Charles Kelly Wright, cousin of the groom.
Following the wedding events, the couple departed for a wedding trip to Hawaii.
