Power problems in Landis
Some stoplights have come back on in Landis after a power outage affected about 5,000 customers.
The outage hit sometime between 7:30 and 8 a.m., according to Frank Thomason, Rowan County emergency services director. Thomason had been in touch with Town Manager Reed Linn, who indicated the problem was a sub station in Landis that was not sending power out to customers.
Police and firefighters have been directing traffic while repairs are under way.
