Investigators with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office have charged two Woodleaf residents, one accused of being involved in a break-in at Goodson Road and the other with drug possession.
The agency’s Criminal Investigative Division was able to locate numerous jewelry items that had been stolen from the Goodson Road residence. Detectives tracked the stolen items to a precious metal dealer in Spencer. The items had been sold to the Spencer shop by Joseph Andrew Lleras, 20, of the 1800 block of Potneck Road.
Lleras was charged Wednesday with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, felony obtaining property by fraud, felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lleras was issued a $125,000 secured bond. He remains in the Rowan County jail.
During a search of Lleras’ home, detectives found six individual half ounce bags of marijuana.
Investigators charged Amber Deanna Wheeler, 40, also of the 1800 block of Potneck Road, Wednesday with felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Wheeler was given a $3,500 secured bond. Wheeler has been released.
Lleras has been convicted of drug possession, larceny, breaking and entering and financial card fraud.
