Power to be cut for emergency repairs

Power will be cut for about an hour early Saturday in parts of Salisbury while Duke Energy crews repair a faulty connection.
Technicians found an issue that needs immediate attention to prevent an unplanned power failure, Duke Energy said Friday.
Crews will begin work at 4 a.m., when the fewest customers will be affected, Duke Energy said.
The outage will impact three distribution areas:
• Mooresville Road from Sherrills Ford Road east toward West Jake Alexander Boulevard, and a portion of Sherrills Ford Road, Hurley School Road and Jack Brown Road.
• Mooresville Road from Sherrills Ford Road to Patterson Road.
• Areas south of Mooresville Road from Sherrills Ford Road, including Rowan Mills Road, Candlewick Drive, Rolling Hills Golf Course area, and the Rowan County Airport and Army National Guard Flight Facility.
Duke Energy is also contacting the 3,700 customers in the area by phone to make them aware of the outage.
