The Salisbury Police seized more than a pound of marijuana, guns, cash and other drugs Wednesday from a Bringle Ferry Road home.
Around 1 p.m., Police Capt. Melonie Thompson was traveling on Bringle Ferry Road, near Green Street, when she saw a man driving a four-wheeler on Green Street, near a dead end. The driver of the four-wheeler was later identified as Larsen Keithley Pant, 30, who lives in the 1000 block of Bringle Ferry Road, a statement said.
Pant pulled the ATV behind his residence. When Thompson approached Pant, he ran inside the home.
Other officers were called to the scene, and when Pant opened the door, officers noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the house. The Police Department’s narcotics unit obtained a search warrant and searched the home. Patrol officers and members of the Police Interdiction Team also assisted in the search.
Investigators confiscated the following — 642 grams of marijuana, 78 grams of cocaine, six grams of heroin, $5,120, one rifle, one handgun and a smoking pipe.
Pant was charged with felony trafficking in cocaine, felony trafficking in heroin, felony possession with the intent to sell, deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling place for the sale of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
In 2005 and again in 2009 Pant was convicted of drug possession.
