RALEIGH — A bill to remove the Rowan County Airport from the Salisbury city limits could end up in front of its first committee today.
The Salisbury De-annexation Rowan County Airport bill is slated to be heard in the committee on Government, co-chaired by bill co-sponsor Harry Warren, at 10 a.m. in Raleigh, according to the legislative calendar.
The legislation was introduced by fellow N.C. Rep. Carl Ford after Rowan County commissioners asked lawmakers to consider de-annexing the airport property.
Commission Chairman Jim Sides has consistently pushed for airport de-annexation. He could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
