At Rowan Regional Medical Center, 67 new pieces of student artwork are now on display.
More than 150 people attended a student art celebration Feb. 27 at the hospital. Students, family members, art teachers, principals and other Rowan-Salisbury school staff joined hospital employees, board members and other guests at “Committed Communities: A Celebration of Student Art.”
Two pieces of artwork were selected from each school in the entire Rowan-Salisbury School System — kindergarten through grade 12. This year, elementary school students were also included in the exhibit in an effort to extend the opportunity to all students.
The artwork is on display in three patient waiting areas at Rowan Regional, including the Wilson L. Smith Outpatient Center, the heart failure clinic and the outpatient patient surgery waiting area.
In a hospital press release, President Dari Caldwell shared her excitement about expanding the number of pieces of art on display at Rowan.
“We are thrilled to showcase the talents of our local students,” Caldwell said in the press release. “Their artwork beautifies our hospital and enhances the waiting experience for our patients and guests. We are proud of this ongoing collaboration and we thank the students for their remarkable contribution.”
This is the fourth year Rowan Regional and Rowan-Salisbury Schools have collaborated to showcase student art. All of the artwork will be on display at the hospital for one year.
