Connor was a real Friday Night Hero when the Cavaliers met Monroe in the sectional final. He sprinted downcourt in the final seconds of regulation, took a pass from Oshon West and got off a layup attempt before the buzzer for the winning points in a 53-51 victory.

  The win propelled North (27-3) into Friday night’s Western Regional game against Winston-Salem Prep. Connor also helped the Cavaliers to sectional wins over South Stanly and South Stokes.
