Man shot in fight over mo-ped
MOORESVILLE — A man was shot in the leg Friday in Mooresville during a fight over a mo-ped, officials say.
Rowan County Sheriff’s officers were called out to respond to 1315 Oak Breeze Drive in southwestern Rowan County.
Capt. John Sifford said two male ex-roomates were arguing about who owned the moped Friday evening, and the dispute turned into a fist fight.
One of the men pulled out a .22 caliber handgun and shot the other one in the calf. The injury was not life threatening.
The names of the two men have not been released. It was unclear Saturday whether charges would be filed.
