Wyatt C. Zander, 16, son of Sarah Zander of Rockwell, is receiving his Eagle Scout Award today, Feb. 10, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Scoutmaster Henry Trexler of Troop 443 is presenting the award.
Wyatt has earned 37 merit badges and currently serves as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. He is a Brotherhood member of Order of the Arrow; has won the World Conservation Award; earned his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts; won the National Patrol awards five years in a row; and was on the ecology staff at Camp John J. Barnhardt.
As his Eagle project, Wyatt held an American Red Cross blood drive at the East Rowan YMCA. He collected 34 pints of blood, far exceeding his goal of 27 pints after having to turn people away.
Wyatt is a 10th-grader at East Rowan High School.
