Union Power Cooperative crews continue to work to restore power to about 900 members in Rowan County due to a broken transmission line pole. The pole broke due to stress caused by a cut guy wire that was damaged by a roadside crew. According to an outage map on its website, the outage is near the Gold Hill area.
Crews are working to replace the pole and restore power as quickly as possible. Power restoration efforts may take up to 4 hours.
Union Power Cooperative is a member-owned electric cooperative, which provides electric service to more than 66,000 members in Union, Stanly, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Rowan counties.
