SALISBURY — The long-awaited country and bluegrass nightclub in downtown Salisbury has opened.
Nashville Nights, which occupies two storefronts at 125 and 127 E. Innes St., has struggled with construction permits, red tape and other setbacks for more than two years.
Owners Dick Palmore and Karen Littleton have completed extensive renovations, and the bar finally opened Friday. The club will host its first event Feb. 9, when Darrell Harwood, a country music artist originally from China Grove, appears at the grand opening.
Littleton said she is encouraging people to buy $5 annual memberships, which are required for entrance, before the grand opening.
In addition to live music, Nashville Nights also offers pool tables and billiards tournaments, streaming country music videos, sports channels in HD, karaoke and live mike nights and DJs.
An upstairs game room will feature additional pool tables, pinball machines, skee ball, foosball, darts and more.
