Potter’s House Outreach hosts men’s and women’s ministry programs this weekend

Potter’s House Outreach Ministries are hosting two days of special ministries.
The women’s ministry program titled, “My Cup Runneth Over,” featuring several speakers will begin at 3 p.m. today.
The one-day men’s ministry program at 3 p.m., sponsored by Elder Anthony Horton, will start at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Speakers include Elder Horton, Elder Richard Johnson, Bishop Samuel Thompson and Elder Clay Thompson.
Potter’s House is located at 119 Clancy St.
Appreciation service for Dr. John L. Krider will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Ambassador Christian Church.
The Rev, Louis Turner will speak.

CHINA GROVE — During the 11 a.m. service Sunday, members and friends of Mt. Zion UCC are invited to bring a can of soup and saltine crackers to share for Souper Bowl Sunday.
All donations will be shared with Main Street Mission of China Grove.

Cornerstone Church will host a special Super Bowl Sunday 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday.
It is a casual Sunday and all are encouraged to wear a favorite sports team jersey.

Pastor Joslyn Blackburn and the Praise Team will lead worship.
Student pastor Taylor Ford and his band “Offered Soul” will lead “Unplugged” from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
This is a casual, contemporary service. Children’s activities (fifth grade and under) are provided.

Calvary Baptist Church will have a Super Bowl Party in the fellowship hall at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Watch the game on a large HD TV screen while enjoying snacks and fellowship. There will be a special half-time presentation titled “Power to Win,” when three members of the NY Giants, last year’s Super Bowl winner, will give their testimonies.
This party is part of the Baptist Men’s Day celebration at Calvary.
Three of Calvary’s men, Jeff Rone, Brandon Benfield and Ron Truman, will speak during the morning service.
All this will follow the 9 a.m. breakfast in the fellowship hall.

STATESVILLE — Horizon Church will host “The Big Game Outreach,” a free football-themed family event at 5 p.m. Sunday.
The Super Bowl will be shown in the sanctuary on a huge screen and free burgers, hot dogs and fixins’ will be served.
A short presentation will replace the televised half time show. Admission is free, but those who attend are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the Horizon Church Food Pantry Ministry.

CONCORD — Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church will host a banquet in honor of Pastor John Leazer’s and First Lady’s Darlene Leazer’s 16th pastoral anniversary.
The banquet is next Saturday, in the Macedonia Baptist fellowship hall at 6 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for youth 12 and under, and dress is semi-formal. There will be live music and a four-course meal.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is hosting Jazz Vespers at 7 p.m. next Saturday in the chapel, with the theme of “Where Jazz Meets the Spoken Word.” Performing are the Larry Draughn Trio and Elijah Furquan, a hip-hop artist and spoken word poet. The concert is free, and a reception to meet the musicians follows.
