CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Former West Rowan star K.P. Parks might see a different offense next year at Virginia.
The Cavs hired former Colorado State coach Steve Fairchild to be its offensive coordinator.
Fairchild replaces Bill Lazor, who resigned earlier this week to take a job on Chip Kelly’s staff with the Philadelphia. Eagles.
Fairchild spent two seasons as offensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills. After being fired by CSU, he returned to the NFL last year to work as an offensive assistant with San Diego.
CLOWNEY’S NEW COACH

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney won’t get any special treatment from his new position coach.
Deke Adams said he’s continually been asked since becoming the Gamecocks defensive line coach how he’ll handle Clowney, the dominant, 6-foot-6 pass rusher who finished sixth in this past year’s Heisman Trophy voting.
“I think everyone else has thought about it way more than I have,” Adams said. “I’ll continue to coach hard and continue to demand perfection from my guys.”
And that includes Clowney.

That doesn’t mean that Adams, who spent last season on North Carolina’s staff, isn’t much happier to have the junior standout on his sideline than playing against him. The Tar Heels and Gamecocks open next season at Williams-Brice Stadium on Aug. 31.
“That’s always a bonus,” Adams said of Clowney. “He’s a great kid and I’ve heard a lot of exciting things about him.”
ECU IN C-USA

IRVING, Texas — The six new schools in Conference USA will be split evenly among the two divisions next football season.
Conference USA is expanding to 14 members.
League newcomers Louisiana Tech, North Texas and Texas-San Antonio will be in the West with returning teams Tulsa, Rice, UTEP and Tulane.
Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic, who will depart the Sun Belt early to join C-USA next season, will be with newcomer FIU in the East along with returnees East Carolina, Marshall, UAB and Southern Miss. SMU, Houston, UCF and Memphis are leaving.
