Ten North Hills Christian School seventh-graders were selected and recognized as academically gifted by the national Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) for students in the seventh grade.
The students scored at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. The following seventh-grade students were selected: Caroline Cody, Chloe Corley, Avery Frank, Brittany Gaddis, James Houghton, Mary Kaufmann, Camantha-Rea Lyerly, Breanna Miller, Richard Parker and Shelby Turman.
The students are invited to take the ACT or SAT alongside college-bound 11th- and 12th-grade students.
Julie Bennington, talent search coordinator for Duke TIP, said that qualifying for the talent search is an honor. “We’re pleased to welcome a new class of seventh-grade talent search participants and look forward to inspiring these students to reach their highest academic potential in middle school and beyond,” she said.
Duke TIP is a nonprofit organization that identifies and serves the educational needs of academically gifted youth. The program provides challenging educational programs and resources for students.
