Rowan Regional Medical Center Foundation has closed its Mocksville Avenue location and relocated inside the hospital.
The move came this week as the Foundation and marketing staff transitioned to its new space on the fourth floor of the Kiser Building at the hospital. The Kiser Building is located off the emergency department, at 911 W. Henderson St.
Rick Parker, who was manager of strategic growth and planning, has also stepped into the position of foundation director, after former director Diane Hooper retired.
Parker’s new role will be to raise funds for the foundation. The foundation raises money to purchase medical equipment and fund education programs in support of physicians and staff at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
The foundation was formed in 1988 and is governed by a 22-member board of directors.
“Part of any budget is to look at how you can reduce expenses,” Parker said.
In the future the foundation office may consider moving into its own building, he said.
The move came down to providing efficient services to patients.
“You want to use as much of those dollars to go to patient care,” Parker said. “It’s a cost saving measure.”
Donations may be delivered to the fourth floor or be picked up by foundation staff.
