Wonders beat Central in SPC

A.L. Brown’s boys beat Central Cabarrus 66-51 in SPC action on Fridy.
Derrick Copeland led the Wonders (5-3, 2-0) with 18 points. Michael Carr and Tydus Parks scored 14 each.
Parks and Keeon Johnson combined for 25 rebounds.
“This was our best defensive game,” Brown coach Shelwyn Klutz said. “We played with high intensity for 32 minutes and it was a really good team win for us.”
Dey’quan Heath scored 21 for the Vikings.
• A coin toss at the Post today will determine the No. 3 and No. 4 boys seeds for the Christmas tournament.
Carson and South Rowan both have 5-5 records and have not played each other.

Catawba is ranked 13th in the Division II Coaches Preseason Poll.
West Chester is No. 1.
Tusculum is 17th.

Prep girls hoops
Davie (6-5) beat Forbush 63-52 on Thursday.
Asiah Peterson had 19 points and 14 rebounds for the War Eagles.
Haleigh Hatfield had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Madison Zaferatos and Amy Steller scored 11 each.
Davie secured the No. 5 seed for the Christmas tournament.
