WINSTON-SALEM — Pharoh Cooper passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead Havelock to a 55-21 victory in the Class 3-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship game Saturday.
Cooper, the MVP of the game, scored on a 2-yard touchdown run and also had scoring passes that covered 11 yards to Harry Caldwell and 12 yards to C.J. Lindsey for Havelock (15-1).
In addition to Cooper, Derrel Scott rushed for two touchdowns, Lindsey had an 87-yard interception return for a touchdown and A.J. Coplon returned a fumble 61 yards for a score for Havelock.
Concord (13-3) scored all 21 of its points in the second quarter on touchdown passes from B.J. Beecher. He had scoring passes of 30 yards to Zosh Heilig, 37 yards to Rocky Reid and 21 yards to Jerry Burk.
Beecher finished 22 of 36 for 267 yards.

WINSTON-SALEM — T.J. Logan ran for a state-finals record 510 yards and eight touchdowns to help Northern Guilford beat Charlotte Catholic 64-26 in the Class 3-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship Saturday night.
Logan’s huge performance gave the Nighthawks (15-0) a third straight state championship while making him the game’s MVP.
Logan ran for touchdowns of 46, 27 and 80 yards by halftime to help Northern Guilford to a 29-14 lead. Logan also ran for scores of 19, 14, 82 and 73 yards.
Elijah Hood ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cougars.

RALEIGH— LaChaston Smith scored his third touchdown with 19 seconds left to lift South Iredell to a 30-27 victory over Carrboro in the Class 2-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship game.
Smith, the game’s MVP, finished with 152 yards rushing for South Iredell (14-2).
Quarterback Alex McVeigh rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns for Carrboro (15-1), and his 12-yard scoring run with 2:37 left put Carrboro up 27-23.
Quarterback Davin King and Smith led South Iredell downfield, moving 62 yards in eight plays. King found Scott Miller for a 19-yard gain to the Carrboro 1, and three plays later, Smith scored the game-winner.
Smith had scoring runs of 26 and 2 yards in addition to his 1-yarder.

WINSTON-SALEM — Garrett Young threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Brock with 7:55 left to help East Lincoln beat Tarboro 24-20 in the Class 2-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship Saturday.
Young threw for 196 yards and two scores for the Mustangs (16-0), who won their first title in their second appearance in an NCHSAA final. Young was named the game’s most valuable player.

RALEIGH — J’Veon Walker had a 40-yard touchdown run and a 94-yard kickoff return for another score to lead Southwest Onslow to a 44-34 victory over Swain County (15-1).
After Swain County (15-1) had closed to 16-13 on Raymius Smith’s 79-yard touchdown pass to Greg Tishow, Walker returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a score.

RALEIGH — Sharmontez Ferebee threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Phelps with 1:46 left to help Plymouth beat Murphy 20-15 in the Class 1-A.

CHAPEL HILL — Riley Ferguson threw for 301 yards and five touchdowns to help Matthews Butler beat Fayetteville Britt 56-28 in the Class 4-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.
Four of Ferguson’s TD throws came in the first quarter, when the Bulldogs (15-0) ran out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Butler won a third NCHSAA title in four seasons in a rematch of the 2009 final
