Three people were injured when the car they were in hit a tree Saturday night on Stokes Ferry Road.
The three were pinned in when rescue crews arrived at 10265 Stokes Ferry Road just after 10 p.m.
The first patient was freed from the vehicle at 10:30. When the driver was removed at 10:40, crews were still working to extricate the third victim. They reported the last patient out by 11 p.m.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene and flew out one patient. A second was transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center, where another helicopter was sent to carry out patients.
