LANDIS – Officials with Rowan-Salisbury Schools said this afternoon suspended South Rowan High Principal Dr. Don Knox will return to his duties Monday.
“The investigation has been completed,” RSS Public Information Officer Rita Foil said. “We did not find any basis for further disciplinary action.”
Knox was suspended with pay Oct. 5 after a former student, the 2012 valedictorian at South, Tanner Hoke, told officers he had been assaulted by Knox in a hallway near the cafeteria in May.
The Sheriff’s Office had closed and cleared the case as unfounded.
Knox has been principal of South Rowan High since 2008.
Previous attempts to reach Hoke about his accusation have been unsuccessful.
Hoke didn’t file the complaint against Knox until Sept. 12, and he told deputies he did not report the assault immediately out of fear of retaliation.
