The Board of Christian Education of Erwin Temple CME Church hosts program 5 p.m. Saturday in recognition of cancer survivors, especially breast and prostate cancer. Guest speaker Justin Fulton of Fairfield Baptist Church Mocksville, and Davie branch of NAACP. Held in the fellowship hall; dinner will be served.
Spencer Masonic Lodge, barbecued chicken dinner, Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; $7.50 includes half a chicken, cole slaw, fries, dessert and drink if you dine in. Carryout orders will have baked beans as a substitute for fries. The Lodge is at 114 Fourth St., Spencer. All proceeds go to Masonic and local charities.
