In 1992, Betty Dan Nicholas Spencer donated many of her Christmas decorations to Historic Salisbury Foundation’s Hall House on South Jackson Street. The picture at left shows her decorating a Hall House tree with some of her collection. The decorations were used in her South Fulton Street home, which served as the American Cancer Society’s Holiday House for three years. Historic Salisbury Foundation held its first open house at the Dr. Josephus W. Hall House Dec. 9-10, 1972. It was the first public showing of the house after the foundation purchased it from Mildred Seaber. The above winter photograph of the Hall House decorated for Christmas was taken in 1976. This is the 40th anniversary year of Historic Salisbury Foundation.
