Southern States Cooperative will review its operations at a series of local annual meetings, including a meeting Dec. 4 for members of Southern States Cooperative, Inc. – Salisbury.
“Fiscal 2012 was an extremely challenging year for Southern States Cooperative,” says President and CEO Thomas R. Scribner. “The winter of 2012 was the mildest since 1932 and the second warmest since 1895. The warm temperatures significantly impacted our earnings, as agricultural producers needed less feed related products and rural homeowners burned fewer gallons of home heating fuels.”
He said for 2013, the corporate direction will be to focus on the entire customer experience.
“It is our belief that with a customer-focused sales strategy, 2013 will be a great year,” he said.
The Tuesday, Dec. 4, meeting at 1710 Jake Alexander Blvd. begins at 7 p.m.
Local board members will be elected and retiring board members will be recognized.
