Park Sterling Bank merges with Citizens South

SALISBURY – Citizens South Bank at the corner of Innes and Fulton streets is now Park Sterling Bank, the result of an Oct. 1 merger.
Park Sterling Corp., the Charlotte-based holding company for Park Sterling Bank, has merged with Citizens South Banking Corp.
Citizens South Bank’s 21 branch locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia are now Park Sterling branches, company officials said.
“We are excited to announce this visible evidence of our merger,” James C. Cherry, CEO of Park Sterling said in a statement.
Following the merger, Park Sterling Bank has more than $2 billion in total assets.
The bank provides lending, deposit, wealth management, cash management, mortgage banking and retail banking services through 45 offices located in the Carolinas and Georgia.
Park Sterling focuses on providing financial services to small- and mid-sized businesses, owner-occupied and income-producing real estate owners, professionals and consumers doing business or residing within target markets.
