Wolfpack picked to win ACC by coaches

ACC coaches: NC State is the league favorite%reldate(2012-10-15T20:40:58GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Atlantic Coast Conference coaches have picked North Carolina State as league favorite.
Eight of the league’s 12 coaches picked the Wolfpack. The coaches also picked N.C. State’s C.J. Leslie as preseason player of the year and teammate Rodney Purvis as rookie of the year.
Duke was second and had three first-place votes, while North Carolina was third and got the other first-place vote. Miami was fourth, followed by Florida State, Maryland, Virginia, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Boston College.
Leslie, N.C. State’s Lorenzo Brown, UNC’s James Michael McAdoo, Duke’s Mason Plumlee and FSU’s Michael Snaer made the coaches’ preseason all-ACC team.
It was the first coaches’ vote on a predicted finish or individual honors. The media vote comes Wednesday during the ACC’s media day in Charlotte.
