?The Landis power system will be offline for a scheduled eight hour outage Oct. 28.
The outage will be from midnight-8 a.m.
This downtime has been scheduled by Duke Energy to perform maintenance and repair on switches at their substation, which directly feeds the Landis substation.
During this time period, no electrical service will be available for any Landis Power customers, including customers located in China Grove and Kannapolis.
This outage will also affect traffic lights, street lights and wastewater lift stations, all of which are serviced by Landis Power.
Arrangements have been made so that phone service will not be interrupted at Landis town hall.
The outage will not affect Landis water or wastewater customers.
The Town of Landis will have additional resources within the Police, Fire and Public Works departments on duty to handle any problems that may arise.
