?SALISBURY – David Ramsey has a special place in his heart for Rowan County Meals on Wheels, a United Way supported agency.
His mother, Ann Ramsey, received services from the agency.
Ramsey, a Rowan County native and a chief deputy with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, routinely donates to the United Way campaign and on Wednesday his name was pulled to be in the running to receive a car.
During each campaign report meeting a volunteer draws names and those names are placed in a pool of other finalists.
Anyone who makes a contribution to the campaign of $52 or more has a chance to win a car.
Once the final 12 names have been drawn, one person will win a car from one of four participating dealerships.
The four Salisbury dealers are Ben Mynatt Nissan, Team Chevrolet, Gerry Wood Auto Group and Cloninger Ford/Toyota.
The other two names drawn at Wednesday’s meeting were Donnie Talley and Jennifer Cline, both of Freightliner.
