At least one person was killed in a traffic accident Saturday night on Bringle Ferry Road.
Firefighters on the scene at 3445 Bringle Ferry Road reported finding a motorcyclist’s helmet but no victim. They searched the woods along the area between Earnhardt and Dunns Mountain roads just as severe rain storms rolled into the area around 11:30 p.m.
The Highway Patrol confirmed one person was dead. A small black passenger car was the only visibly damaged vehicle in the midst of rescue lights at the scene early this morning.
